    A uniquely innovative manufacturing company with operations in Washington County, MD and Franklin County, PA is looking for an HR professional who can join our dynamic group of talented leaders.  This position will be working collaboratively across the organization, partnering with management to strategically drive success.

    This role is presented with the opportunity to advance into an executive level position in a short period of time, roughly two to four years. 

    Duties Include:

    • Support HR functions for manufacturing facilities with approximately 200+ employees
    • Partner with department managers to help facilitate the training of new hires, career pathing and employee development. 
    • Ensure the adherence to internal policies and procedures, specific to HR, Corporate and divisional.
    • Provide leadership to direct reports.
    • Management of recruiting, staffing, onboarding, and negotiating terms with external staffing vendors
    • Research and develop job descriptions, and salary guidelines.
    • Participate in interviews for new hires (production and warehousing).
    • Structure rewards and benefits that promote retention.
    • Assist in performance appraisals and employee development.
    • Document and implement disciplinary measures.
    • Ensure government regulation and company policy compliance.
    • Maintain a current working knowledge of payroll tax, unemployment, FMLA, and workers compensation regulations.
    • Maintain a current working knowledge of EOE and OSHA regulation.
    • Manage safety program, coordinate safety meetings, trainings and maintain appropriate documentation.  Conduct safety inspections and accident investigations. 
    • Manage leave administration.
    • Responsible for government reporting (EEOC, ACA, OSHA, CMS, MD Tier II)
    • Manage PTO / LL.
    • Working with department managers, help to develop training programs and improve communications utilizing shift change.
    • Understand tax law for MD, PA, WV and other applicable states.
    •  Oversight of onboarding and training programs
    • Maintain up to date Employee Handbook and Benefit Guide
    • Maintain database of employee notices and announcements and correspondence issued by HR or executive teams.
    • Oversee all aspects of payroll and corporate internal controls and processes.
    • Manage and maintain internal HRIS database.
    • Maintain confidential personnel data and files.
    • Coordinate company-wide events and recognition programs.
    • Serve as employee point of contact on policies and benefits. 
    • Respond to employee HR related questions.
    • Travel as needed.

     

    Qualifications:

    • A 4 year degree in HR Management or related studies, extensive experience considered in lieu of formal degree
    • PHR or SPHR certification
    • A minimum of 5 years’ HR experience in a senior level role
    • Must have experience in a manufacturing and production environment.
    • Firm knowledge of employee compensation/benefit programs
    • In depth and current knowledge of governmental labor laws and OSHA regulation
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage sensitive conversations objectively and confidentially.
    • Proficiency with an HRIS system
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs

     

    Executive level (promoted into w/2-4 years in HR Manager role)

    Responsibilities:

    • Manages HR team and daily operations of department.
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and ensure proper training and leadership of administrative, management and executive positions.
    • Partnering with executive management to create, review and implement succession planning and talent development.
    • Directly handles or provides leadership and guidance in the handling of all disciplinary actions, including terminations, to ensure accordance with company policies and legality.
    • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term strategic plan, identifying goals and objectives to support the plan as it relates to talent management and / or Corporate oversight.
    • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.  Joins local and national organizations that help support role as HR professional.
    • Maintain continued education in trends and analytics that impact talent management.
    • Develop and measure retention programs.
    • Conduct research and stay up to date with trends, both local and national, that affect hiring and retention, including pay, benefits, and work schedules. 
    • Develop career pathing and leadership programs.
    • Ensure that incentive programs are rolled out and managed properly, fairly and are affective.
    • Acts as Administrator of the FTI retirement plan and is a member of the Investment Committee. 
    • Researches and negotiates healthcare benefits. Works closely with brokage to understand plan utilization, cost, and trends.
    • Develop compensation programs.
    • Ensures compliance with employment laws, and regulations.  This includes safety, leave administration, insurance, and pension.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements:

    • Must have 10+ years of experience in a mid-level HR role with strategic, talent management, business development experience.
    • Must have 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in an HR role.
    • Minimum 4-year degree in HR, Management, business administration, or other relevant field
    • HR certifications required (example: PHR,SPHR, CMHR, etc.)
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills
    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
    • Strong analytical and program solving skills.
    • Coaching and leadership experience
    • Experience with training programs, excellent with presentations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Some travel required.
