Live from DOL on May 2 and 3
DOL Online Forum for Employers
EPSHRM tries to cover a few of the biggest topics that would help the largest majority of our members, but there is quite a lot going on out there in the world of government, compliance, and legal actions. Sometimes, the bast way we can assist is to provide resources that can cover way more than the few minutes a month during meetings. The upcoming online forum could be a place to learn a massive amount of things that could directly impact your company and the field of HR as a whole.
On May 2 and 3rd at 9am to 4:30 pm CDT, the US Department of Labor is to host an online event for employers, contractors, workers, and other stakeholders on workplace compliance along with other issues. Organized by the Wage and Hour Division in Dallas, the forum will include panel discussions on compliance with federal laws governing wages and other workplace issues. The forum will include representatives of the department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, Employment Benefits Security Administration, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Office of Labor-Management Standards, Occupational Safety Health Administration, Veterans' Employment Training Service, Wage and Hour Division and the Women’s Bureau.
Also attending will be representatives of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, IRS, National Labor Relations Board and the Small Business Administration.
Attendance is free but registration is required for you to get the event link. This can be a great place to get more in-depth details about new regulations and compliance updates that have been posted or could be coming down the road. These forums usually have contact details that may assist you with getting specific questions answered in reference to a topic they presented or others that have arisen within your company. I encourage any who can, to try and attend.
