    Speaker Bio:

The Mid-Atlantic ADA Center provides information, guidance and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), tailored to meet the needs of businesses, government entities, organizations, and individuals in the Mid-Atlantic Region (DC, DE, MD, PA, VA, and WV).

It is part of the ADA National Network (link is external), which consists of ten regional centers located throughout the United States that provide personalized assistance to educate the public about the ADA. It is not an enforcement or regulatory agency, but a helpful resource for obtaining information and guidance on compliance with the requirements of the ADA.

Ms. Goss is responsible for the coordination of the Center’s outreach efforts as well as conducting trainings on the ADA and disability awareness. Additionally, she is responsible for the newsletter, bi-weekly e-bulletin, program evaluation, and other reporting obligations.

She is also a principal at Transcen, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving educational and employment outcomes for people with disabilities. Their work is driven by the belief that there is a job for everyone who wants one, regardless of the nature of their disability, or other barriers to employment, their need for workplace support and accommodation, or economic circumstance. Associates there develop, implement, and research innovative practices regarding school-to-adult life transition, career and workforce development, and inclusive community participation.

Ms. Goss holds an undergraduate degree in business management from UMUC. She has over 30 years of work experience focusing on business management and human resources management. Her business background includes non-profit organizations, manufacturing, construction, biotech, recruitment, health care, government contracting, and the IT industry. In addition to her broad experience supporting the business community, she has worked extensively with state and local government agencies, has worked closely with the Department of Economic Development, as well as with Maryland’s Lead Disability Program Navigator.

Ms. Goss has conducted a variety of ADA training programs, particularly related to employment topics, for employers, businesses, professional organizations, state and local government entities, disability organizations, and people with disabilities. She has received intensive ADA training from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
