"I Hire Veterans" Initiative

Bring a veteran into your organization!!!

Unemployment is a severe problem for those who have served our country.  In addition to our gratitude and support, our veterans need jobs.

Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-WV) has joined with his colleague Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and 29 other Democrats and Republicans to form the Senate Veterans Jobs Caucus and launch the “I Hire Veterans” initiative.  Sen. Manchin is asking his colleagues and private businesses small and large to make a personal and public commitment to hiring veterans by displaying the “I Hire Veterans” logo.

“Think of this as the new Yellow Ribbon.  The unemployment rate is even higher for our service members, so we wanted to show that we can walk the walk when it comes to hiring veterans,” said Senator Manchin.  “Our office currently has four veterans, and they are the most dedicated, trained, committed kind of employees imaginable.  I am so appreciative to have that quality of a workforce in my office.”

Senator Manchin and the members of the Senate Veterans Jobs Caucus all proudly display the logo in their offices to signify that they are honored to have veterans or their family members as staff members.

Employers who have hired veterans are encouraged to download the "I Hire Veterans" logo and display it in their workplace – it is available for download at http://manchin.senate.gov/.
